About the Scheme
PM Vishwakarma Yojana is a central government scheme providing holistic end-to-end support to traditional artisans and craftspeople through skill training, toolkit grants, concessional credit, and digital market access across 18 identified trades.
Welfare Benefits & Assistance
- •PM Vishwakarma Certificate and Digital ID Card providing formal recognition as a traditional artisan
- •5-7 days of basic skill training with optional 15+ days of advanced training, with a training stipend of Rs. 500 per day
- •Toolkit incentive grant of Rs. 15,000 provided as an e-voucher to purchase modern tools for your trade
- •Collateral-free loans at a concessional 5% interest rate: First tranche up to Rs. 1 Lakh (18-month repayment) and second tranche up to Rs. 2 Lakh (30-month repayment)
- •Digital transaction incentive of Re. 1 per transaction (up to 100 transactions per month) to promote cashless payments
- •Marketing support for selling products on government e-marketplaces like GeM (Government e-Marketplace)
Eligibility Criteria
Additional Prerequisites
- Must be engaged in one of 18 identified traditional trades: Carpenter, Boat Maker, Armourer, Blacksmith, Hammer and Tool Kit Maker, Locksmith, Goldsmith, Potter, Sculptor, Cobbler, Mason, Basket/Mat/Broom Maker, Doll & Toy Maker, Barber, Garland Maker, Washerman, Tailor, or Fishing Net Maker
- Only one member per family (husband, wife, and unmarried children) is eligible for the scheme
- Must not be a government employee or family member of a government employee
- Must not have availed loans under similar credit-based central schemes (PMEGP, PM SVANidhi, MUDRA) in the past 5 years

How to Apply (Step-by-Step Guide)
Registration must be done through the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC); direct online self-registration by the applicant is not available
Visit the nearest CSC with your Aadhaar card, mobile number, bank details, and proof of trade
The CSC operator performs Aadhaar-based biometric authentication and fills the registration form on the PM Vishwakarma portal
Once registered, you receive a PM Vishwakarma Certificate, Digital ID, and registration on the Udyam Assist Platform
Track application status and download certificates by logging into pmvishwakarma.gov.in using your registered mobile number
Visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) or Gram Panchayat office
Carry all original documents along with photocopies for verification
The CSC operator will complete the entire registration process on your behalf at no cost
Collect the printed acknowledgment and registration receipt
Who Should Apply?
- ✓Self-employed artisans and craftspeople working in any of the 18 identified traditional trades
- ✓Small-scale unorganized sector workers looking for skill upgradation and toolkit support
- ✓Traditional craftsmen who have not received benefits under PMEGP, PM SVANidhi, or MUDRA in the past 5 years
Who Should NOT Apply?
- ✗Government employees or their family members
- ✗Persons who have already availed loans under PMEGP, MUDRA, or PM SVANidhi within the past 5 years
- ✗Persons not engaged in any of the 18 notified traditional trades
- ✗More than one member of the same family (husband, wife, and unmarried children)

- •Aadhaar biometric verification failure at the Common Service Centre
- •Applicant not engaged in one of the 18 recognized traditional trades
- •Another family member already registered under the scheme
- •Previous loan availed under PMEGP, MUDRA, or PM SVANidhi within the exclusion period
